Illuminated water frozen in time

Inspired by the calming yet complex light textures formed by tumbling water, we explored how light refraction could create a sculpture referencing the path of the hidden river Tyburn flowing under London, as if caught in a moment, frozen in time.

Working with cast acrylic enabled control of light effects that spill intricate pools of shimmering light across the surrounding floor and ceiling surfaces, using forms developed with a skilful use of caustic light modelling to create a rich, textured language in light that ebbs and flows.
